PyTorch Foundation Expands to Umbrella Foundation and Welcomes vLLM and DeepSpeed Projects

Announced at PyTorch Day France in Paris
The PyTorch Foundation is now an umbrella foundation, creating a broader home for high-value, trusted open source AI projects spanning the full AI lifecycle.

New Hosted Projects

Two leading open source AI projects were recently accepted into the PyTorch Foundation:

vLLM: A high-throughput, memory-efficient inference and serving engine designed for large language models.

DeepSpeed: A deep learning optimization library that simplifies distributed training and inference.

PyTorch Ambassador Program Launch

The PyTorch Foundation has launched the PyTorch Ambassador Program to recognize community leaders who educate, advocate, and inspire.

Nominations for the first cohort are open from May 7 to June 7, 2025.
